What to wear if we are petite
In general, women with a height of less than 1.60 m are considered petite, the size does not really matter. In fact, most minions wear size 36-38 (at least in Romania). Petite dresses are different from normal dresses, having a smaller lapel, shorter sleeve, shorter length and slightly higher sleeve cut. Luckily for petite girls, they can wear almost any style or outfit by learning a few simple strategies to flatter their figure.
Long trousers and heels - it would be ideal not to miss a pair of trousers with a straight cut and a length that covers the heel shoe in your wardrobe. This artifice creates the illusion of longer legs.
If you still want to wear ballet flats or flats you can choose a pair that matches your skin tone or the pants/skirt you are wearing.
The choice of colors - clothing in one color has an elongating effect on the body, and nude shoes create the illusion of elongating legs.
Dark colors create the illusion of a slimmer body and you can get rid of boring black by trying dark shades of colors: green, blue, brown or purple. If you match the tights to the whole outfit, you will create a chromatic unity.
Vertical and diagonal stripes, which I personally love, help petite types look taller and leaner.
The miraculous heels - even a 4-5 cm heel helps you stand straighter and with your chest forward, changing your body posture. Of course, if you feel that you are not yourself wearing heels and don't feel comfortable, you can choose not to wear them.
Belts are only recommended if you have a wasp waist. It would be best to avoid wide belts with metal buckles, opting for thin ones that can also be worn on the hips.
If you are petite, then the accessories you wear will be smaller. An oversized bag would be fashionable but would swallow up a petite figure. Also, stripes and polka dots look better when they are small in size.
Wear pencil skirts - they fall naturally on the body line, flatter the curves and create the illusion of length that you may want. Remember to keep the length of the skirt to the knee or above.
If you are petite and plump, it would be best to avoid large prints (flowers, geometric figures), heavy textures such as velvet, thick felt or fur; clothes that draw attention to the waist or hips are also not among your girlfriends.
Here are some suggestions:
- choose prints as small as possible (they should not exceed the size of your clenched fist)
- wear blouses and shirts with 3/4 sleeves (these make the torso and arms appear longer)
- jabo and loaded shirts do not benefit minions
- avoid wearing too big jewelry
- choose monochromatic clothes (several tones of the same shade)
- blouses with a V- or U-shaped neckline make the neck appear longer
- a long scarf loosely tied around the neck creates the illusion of verticality
- avoid horizontal stripes even on the bust
PS: Try to wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and that reflect your personality, you will look your best in them.
